Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet King!
King was born on March 5, 2023. He is a golden retriever/husky (and many others) mix. He weighs around 32 lbs. King is neutered and all vaccines and preventatives are up to date.
King is a playful and curious dog, who loves to run, jump, get sticks, chase balls, and wrestle with his four foster siblings. He has a sweet personality, and as a young dog, he needs lots of exercise.
He loves other dogs and being around them; however, it is important for his fur friends to match his energy level. King needs the other dogs to correct him to teach his play if he got too rough, as well as a confident owner that will intervene and correct when needed. Today, King is regularly walked several times a day.
His ideal family would be active and at home most of the time. King needs a home that is willing and able to work with an energetic young dog.
King loves long walks, trails, and swimming in creeks and pools. He loves car rides and putting his head out the window. King will howl sometimes; that's the husky in him!
King does great leash-walking and has had no accidents in the house. His foster family reported no chewing in the house, but he is watched carefully. There are always plenty of toys, chew toys, and outdoor toys available.
King does very well with older children, and he hasn't been tested with younger kids yet. He would likely do well with them as well. He has completed beginner training in a class. He is crate trained and knows basic commands (sit, touch, wait, stay, leave it, roll over).
PLEASE NOTE:
We review veterinary care for applicants. This includes regular well visits, up-to-date and consistent core vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm and tick-borne disease testing, and regular monthly heartworm prevention. Please contact your vet to give them permission to speak to us.
Application can be found at www.puppypawsrescue.org
If your application meets our adoption criteria, we will contact you within 1 week. You will then be asked to schedule an interview and virtual home visit. Due to the volume of applications, applications that do not move forward to an interview, may not hear back from us within that time frame.
