Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hey there, I'm Zeus, and let me tell you, I'm quite the social butterfly! When I first arrived at the shelter, I greeted everyone with a wagging tail and a big smile-I just love making new friends. I get so close to those friends that when I'm left all alone I get very anxious. I'll do anything I can to get to be with people, and in the past my separation anxiety has led me to breaking doors and jumping fences. I have cleared a 6 foot fence in the past with no issues. This is something that can be managed in a few ways, be it a home where people are there often, special training, and maybe some anxiety meds. We can work though this anxiety together.
When it comes to other dogs I really prefer to be with female dogs. In the past, I had a run-in with a male dog who hopped their fence to attack me. Ever since then I've been a bit wary of my fellow male canines. But don't worry, I get along just fine with the ladies!
When it comes to kids, though, I'm as gentle as can be. I absolutely adore children, and I've been called a big softy when it comes to them. I might be a goofball and a bit of a couch potato, but I'm also a big old baby who's not too fond of the vacuum-I'll take refuge on the couch until the noise stops!
Oh, and did I mention how much I love water? Yep, you heard that right-I'm not afraid to get wet, and I'll happily play with the garden hose for hours on end. And when it comes to commands, I'm pretty smart-I know how to sit, lay down, stay, move, and come here. Although, I must admit, I've also figured out how to get into those tempting trash bags from time to time!
In my last home, I was loved very much, and I was incredibly close to my owner. I even have the unique experience of knowing what a power chair is, and let me tell you, I'm not scared of them one bit. But with my tendency to escape, I'll need a secure home with someone who can retrieve me if I manage to get out.
So if you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who's ready to overcome some obstacles and shower you with affection, then look no further. I'm Zeus, and I'm ready to be your faithful friend for life!
