My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sadie ! A boxer mix who is full of energy and a zest for life :) Most importantly she is very affectionate with her human companions.

She is currently in foster care with a shelter employee where we are learning a lot about her. She could play the day away playing fetch, or chasing her favorite toy at the end of a flirt pole. She can also settle nicely in her crate after a good play session for a full work day and will be ready to go on an adventure with you when you get home.
Just ask the foster for picture's of her sleeping in her crate during the day!

Things that she is still working on: she gets very excited when you come home and will jump up to demonstrate her enthusiasm. Her leash skills are coming along well and she has a good sit.

While at her foster home she has enjoyed playing with larger male dogs, and has been neutral to large female dogs. She would be great in a home with another large dog, and we can do a meet and greet with your dog to make sure they are a good match.

If you are looking for a fun playmate that loves all of the cuddles that Sadie might be your girl.

All animals available for adoption at HSHPE have been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered, and have been treated for internal/external parasites.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an pre-adoption application. If that application is approved, the dog/cat must be spayed/neutered before it leaves our shelter (if not already done). If it is a puppy under 4 months old, we allow it to go home with the adopters under a foster care agreement until it is old enough to be returned for spay/neuter. Kittens are allowed to leave before spay/neuter is done, but they must be done within a certain time frame.
Fees: Dogs/puppies range from $150-300, depending on if they came in already spayed/neutered or if we paid to have that done.
Cats range from $80 - $140, though we often have deals on older cats or cats that have been there a long time.
Kittens are $60 with $25 refunded once it has been spayed/neutered.
All adoptions include at least the first vaccination, deworming, de-fleaing, microchip ID, and 6 weeks of pet insurance.
