Coconut is special in more ways than one. Rescued from an awful situation, Coconut is getting a 2nd chance on life. He has been neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed and had his nails trimmed.
Coconut has not been around other cats and therefore is socially challenged with other animals. He rushes up on them, it looks like aggression, but it's play behavior and excitement. He is SO excited to see another cat. He will coo and trill and purr. He SO wants to be friends, but he never learned about boundaries, correct cat behavior, or that biting your friends on the butt, is not the way to lifelong friendship. This is classic "Single Kitten Disorder" and we see it in kittens that grow up alone without a friend. Other than that, Coconut's litter box use is pristine, he keeps himself very clean, he is loving, sweet, loves lap time and to have his belly scratched. He is a talker too.
We think he'd do ok with a kitten or cat with a very slow, long and supervised introduction. This can take up to a month to do it right. We think there will be some hissing, some smacks on the face, some biting (not breaking the skin) and some fur will fly. But with time and patience, he will learn that he is safe and he has a cat friend to cuddle with. It's also ok if you don't have a cat or kitten in-house as that's what he is used to, but gosh we would love to see him bonded with another kitty. Oh and yes, he has heterochromia. One blue eye and one green eye. Let us know if you'd like to know more about Coconut. He is currently in a Foster home in Silverton. The adoption fee of $300.00 is to help offset the Veterinary Costs to get Coconut everything he needed to be ready for his furever home. Indoor only for this beauty!
