Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gracie Mae is a tiny 2 year old, 13 lb beagle who was surrendered to us because she was not a good hunter. That's great news for her because now she can become a family pet.
Gracie Mae loves to be petted. She is shy at first around new people and may take a few days to warm up to her new family, but then she does love to be with her people. She is friendly with other dogs. She is working on her housebreaking and seems to really enjoy living in a house. She loves to get up on the couch and snuggle.
She is doing good on leash walking, although a typical beagle and likes to sniff out all the critters. As a former hunting dog she does love to run around the yard chasing scents, so she will need a secure fenced yard.
Gracie Mae does not like being alone. We have found that if left alone she does cry and bark. We are working with her on this issue but she will need a single family home and not an apartment. Hopefully once she understands that her "people" will return every time, she will get better at being left alone.
Gracie Mae is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines. She is also negative for heartworms.
She will make a wonderful family dog. If you are interested in Gracie Mae her application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org. She is located in Williamsburg, Va.
