My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Backpack & Copper, the dynamic orange tabby duo! These adorable little guys are a bundle of cuddles and energy, ready to fill your home with joy. Backpack & Copper love to play and are always up for a good romp. They are looking for a home that can keep up with their high energy levels and provide them with plenty of playtime and enrichment. Due to their spirited play style, Backpack & Copper would do best in an adult-only home. If you're looking for a pair of furry friends who will keep you entertained and shower you with affection, Backpack & Copper might just be the perfect match for you!

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
