My story

Meet Nugget, our lovable senior purebred Shih Tzu, around 12 years young.

This sweet, mild-mannered boy is searching for a hero to provide the love and couch he craves.

Nugget found his way to us after his owner's passing and experienced a bit of separation anxiety during this adjustment period (whining and pacing). However, he's remarkably adaptable and quick to learn that things are alright and he’s in the groove now.

Nugget is fantastic with dogs, cats, and kids, enjoying nothing more than lounging next to his humans.

Though hard of hearing and seeing, he's in perfect health following a comprehensive senior check-up, including dental care.

Ready for adoption or a forever foster, we warmly welcome applications at this time. Note, forever fosters are limited to the Sacramento area only. For those outside the region, Nugget is ready to bring joy to your home, as long as you can pick him up in person.
