She is a vocal bird with a wide variety of hilarious sounds, including squeaks, purrs, and dramatic squawks, If you laugh, she loves to imitate you. In her foster home she barks along with the dog. And any time she hears music—even if it's your singing—she does her bouncy conure dance. Simone is somewhat slow to warm up to people and will dramatically bluff like she's going to bite when she doesn't want to interact. (We think this is hilarious.) But once you earn her trust, she will step up for you regularly and even give kisses! She will ride on your shoulder as you go about your day, and she loves looking out the window and squawking at everyone she sees. Simone enjoys rope perches and climbing gyms, and her favorite toys include those she can shred and preen with, especially her beloved palm leaf pinwheel. An ideal home will give her ample attention, great music to dance to, and a window to watch the world go by. Whether interested in adopting a particular bird or not, you will need to fill out an Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. From there, our adoption team will process your application (including background check, veterinarian check for all current animals, and a home visit)
We will not ship any of our adoptable birds, and have a 100-mile adoption radius. We do not adopt to breeders. We are not able to adopt birds into homes that use Teflon product or smoke due to toxicity dangers.
