My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Glen! Glen is a happy, well-behaved young dog past the puppy chewing stage, but with lots of personality. Glen thinks that everyone he meets is his new best friend. He adores his new dragon toy-even if the dragon may not feel the same. Similarly, he is extremely interested in other dogs, but the feeling is not always mutual. Luckily, he has an amazing foster mom teaching him how to make friends.

He knows several commands, and he is walking well on a leash. He doesn't beg for food except with his eyes and his whole heart, but he stays back from the table. He does not bark at street noise, but will bark at someone who comes up the driveway by a window just to say hello. He is a big boy, so it's best to have him on a harness for walks, otherwise you're going to end up going where he's going!

If you are interested in Glen, his foster mom is generously sponsoring his adoption. Please email foster@laspca.org to schedule a Meet and Greet!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The LA/SPCA pet adoption process includes meeting with a matchmaker to match your lifestyle with the perfect companion. You will spend time with any of the pets you think would be a great companion. You may even want to come back another day to make sure he is the one! All of our animals must be spayed or neutered before you can take them home. Sometimes your perfect companion has not had this procedure done, so please be patient with us if you have to come back to pick him up.

All of our animals have been spayed or neutered before they are released for adoption. We encourage anyone with animals to spay or neuter their pets.

More about this shelter

Chartered in 1888, the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LA/SPCA) is the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state. Our mission is to advocate for the animals of Louisiana by advancing their welfare, promoting their interests, and fostering the human-animal bond through innovative programs, education, and service.

The LA/SPCA is not a state, parish or city governed shelter. We are an independent 501(c)3 non-profit offering a broad range of services and programs including advocacy, legislative services, statewide cruelty investigations, sheltering, full-service animal control (Orleans Parish only), adoption, disaster response, education, and obedience programs.
