My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mazzy, an exuberant and affectionate companion who's ready to bring joy and love to her forever home! This sweet girl is not only great with children but also has a soft spot for kitties, approaching them with curiosity and respect. Mazzy's charming personality shines through whether she's snuggling up for a cuddle, enjoying rawhide treats, or showing off her impressive repertoire of commands like sit, stay, and shake. Her love for walks and the dog park make her the perfect adventure buddy, and she's always up for a trip to Petco or Petsmart. Just make sure to bring tough toys-Mazzy loves a good chew session!

Mazzy's housetraining is spot-on, and she'll let you know when it's time for a potty break with a little whine at the door. While she's not crate-trained, this clever pup is a fast learner and is always eager to please. Mazzy's done well at the groomers and is a pro at car rides with her "load up" command. She adores playing with other dogs, especially her small Yorkie friend, but she's just as happy being the center of your attention. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who thrives on affection and play, Mazzy is your girl. Bring her home, and let the adventures begin!

More about this rescue

The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of fecal matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more than our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper? For the love of the animals we serve. It is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. In August of 2009, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with California and the Federal Government. It was and continues to be, a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing, but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey, and we hope to post MANY happy endings.

Our Mission Statement:

To provide a safe haven for domestic animals, regardless of breed or species, through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary. To advocate for the humane treatment of animals and promote the human-animal bond. To educate the public about the importance of kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership which will emphasize spaying and neutering. To cooperate and work with other animal rescues and shelters towards the goal of becoming a no-kill nation.
