My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Belle AKA Bella
Age: 1 year
Breed: Border Collie X
Size Medium: 40 pounds
Dogs: yes, I have 2
Cats: yes I have 1
Kids: I have 1 and 7 others that play at my house all the time!

Hi! I’m Bella, and I am a very energetic young lady who loves to play with her stuffies, chase balls, run through the sprinkler and chill with my canine siblings! I am housetrained, crate-trained, enjoy a decent car ride here n there and going for daily walks with my foster mom. I love to give you little hints when I am thirsty by playing with my dishes, endlessly until you get it. If you don’t, don’t worry I’ll let you know by flipping them, carrying them around or picking them up and dropping them repeatedly just in case you missed it the first time – HINT HINT. I am good natured, but I do have a few quirks….I mean really who doesn’t? I do like to play with my dog buddies, but I get overwhelmed at dog parks and/or on leash, when going out for walks. I mean if I see a fellow pup across the street, no problem but when they come bounding over to me and stick their face in mine or in my…. well, you know, let’s just say I don’t like to be approached by dogs on leash; I like to decide when it’s time to make new friends and will do it on my terms. I also love to jump… on you, on your friends, on the counter, on the couch, on the bed, windows (in case you forgot about me), you name it, I’m jumping on it. My foster Mom and I are working on my manners, but this one is a tough one for me so if you have smaller children, I am probably not the one for you. I also don’t like it when people put their face in mine or scratch my head, ears… maybe but head is out. I prefer to get to know you better and even then, I get a little nervous but on the bright side: I do really like belly rubs or having my chest scratched or cuddling for about two minutes, then I’m out! Now my foster moms favorite quirk – I love to moan, loudly when getting settled in for my naps!!! I sound like a foghorn but she loves when I do it because it means I’m happy and content.
I am looking for a family that will be patient and gentle with me as I venture into my teens and continue to learn how to be a great family member

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All adoptions begin with an adoption application, available here or on our website (or from one of our wonderful volunteers in person). The application is reviewed by the adoptable animal's foster home as well as by the appropriate coordinator (canine/feline) to assess how the animal will fit in your home. We endeavour to respond to all applications within 72 hours, but being 100% run by volunteers sometimes we need additional time--if you haven't heard back after 72 hours, feel free to contact us to check in on your application.

Canine Adoption Fees:
$450 for puppies under 1 year of age
$375 for dogs over 1 year & under 7 years
$300 for dogs 7 years and older

Feline Adoption Fees:
$250 for kittens and cats up to 12 months old
$200 for cats between 1-6 years old
$150 for cats 6 years old and older

Adoption fees help offset the cost to our organization of providing full medical care (including spay or neuter surgery) to each animal we adopt to a furever home.
