Foster Update!
I brought Mason home as a foster a few days ago and couldn’t be more impressed. He’s friendly, affectionate and just plain fun. He’s house trained. He’s crate trained but he doesn’t need to be crated. He’s been staying in one room and doesn’t chew anything up or damage anything. He doesn’t bark a lot, and seems interested in my other dogs even though I keep them separate. He’s also a good passenger in my car. He loves to go for walks. He loves attention and affection and will roll over for you to rub his belly. Sometimes Mason seems wary of strangers but once he knows you he couldn’t be more friendly.
Mason is a 60 pound boy who was found stray and never reclaimed. He spent about six months at the shelter before he went to foster. At the shelter he seemed to like the company of other dogs but needed slow introductions. However he wasn’t doing well overall at the shelter and was getting very stressed. It’s great to see how quickly he has unwound when he got into a home.
If you have any questions about Mason or would like to meet him, call Bob, Mason’s foster dad, at 757-237-2430.
MASON is a young and fun boy found as a stray and never reclaimed. At 51 pounds, he is shy at first, especially from behind the shelter cage bars but once out he warms up quickly. What we have learned is that Mason is friendly and social and loves to be in the company of other friendly social dogs. He is showing his play style to be a running, pushing, pulling and chasing boy who likes attention. He also likes treats! Mason does great in a crate as well as free roam when spending time in staff offices!
