Here's what the humans have to say about me:
💘🐾SPONSOR ME BARBIE 💘🐾
Last year Barbie was rescued when her owners wanted her euthanized because they were unable to afford an emergency c section. Our vet called us and asked us to take her. We couldn’t let this poor mama dog be euthanized so we committed to her. Here’s where things get tricky - when you commit to a mama dog you can’t properly temperament test until the babies are adopted. Barbie made a full recovery, her puppies all found lovely homes, and Barbie was up for adoption. Once we commit we COMMIT. Sadly Barbie hasn’t been a good match for any of our foster homes and we couldn’t turn our backs on her so she’s been in boarding for about 3 months now. It’s not an ideal situation and we truly never like to utilize boarding - but what other options have we had? Here’s where we need your help! We are sending Barbie to a training program to help her over come some of her fears and hopefully be able to find her a forever home. In addition to the money owed for boarding, her expensive c section, her future training, she is also HW positive an additional $1000 treatment. When she does find a home her adoption fee will likely be very low - so you see a dog who will cost us over 5,000 dollars to save - and now no money recouped. This is why rescues rely so heavily on other ways to raise money to help our cases like this.
We still owe 3k to the boarding facility for housing her all these months. We love our friends New Tampa Pet Resort +1 (813) 400-1560 for taking great care of our fuzzy friends. You can call them directly to sponsor a day of her boarding ($30 a day) or donate below!
