BARN CAT CANDIDATE** Barn Cat Program – Your New Pest Control Team!
Looking for hardworking, independent cats to manage your rodent problem? Our barn cats are ready to work! These self-sufficient cats thrive in outdoor environments and are experts at pest control, but they’re not suited for indoor living. They’ll patrol your barn, shed, or large property to keep things critter-free.
Important Policy:
A barn must be present on the property where the cats will live and work. These cats need a secure outdoor space to do their job! A minimum of two barn cats must be placed together at the same location. We’ll assess whether they can peacefully co-exist before placement. What You Can Expect:
Pest Control Experts: They'll keep your barn free from mice, rats, and other rodents. Low Maintenance: They’re independent workers who just need food, water, and a safe place to roam. No Cuddles, No Problem: Some barn cats may prefer to keep their distance but will be the perfect, no-fuss workers. If you’ve got a barn and are ready to welcome a hard-working team, contact us today to find your new pest control crew!.

More about this shelter
In 1987, an initial attempt was made to organize a local humane society in Caroline County. While this attempt did not succeed, those same dedicated volunteers were not deterred.
From our humble beginnings 30 years ago, to where we are today, we are proud to be called “the little shelter that could”.
We provide service to our community through pet adoption, Rabies Clinics, Trap-Neuter-Return, Pet Pantry, Pet Lost & Found, Re-homing, Intake Diversion, Cremation
