My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Chelsea, a 40-year-old Double Yellow Headed Amazon and the sweetest bird you’ll ever meet. She is wary of hands sometimes but steps up easily onto a perch. Chelsea is a talkative bird, though we don't always understand what she's saying. Her foster family says they have to take phone calls in another room, or Chelsea will dominate the conversation. She says "Hello!" and “How are you?” Chelsea's flying is a work in progress, and she prefers to walk around the house. She is smart and curious and loves enrichment activities, like foraging for hidden apples, in her foster home. Chelsea's impressive vocal capacity makes her unsuitable for a home with shared walls. Can you provide a fun, enriching environment to keep Chelsea busy and happy? Adoption Fee: $400

Additional adoption info

Whether interested in adopting a particular bird or not, you will need to fill out an Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. From there, our adoption team will process your application (including background check, veterinarian check for all current animals, and a home visit)
We will not ship any of our adoptable birds, and have a 100-mile adoption radius. We do not adopt to breeders. We are not able to adopt birds into homes that use Teflon product or smoke due to toxicity dangers.
