My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Rocky was brought in by a Good Samaritan on January 12, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Say hello to sweet Rocky! This (not so) little lady can't wait to find a new cozy home to settle into. We don't know too much about Rocky's past but we are confident that she is going to have a great future! Rocky can be a little nervous in new situations and with new people (me too), so low pressure interactions, patience, and tasty treats will be the way to winning her heart. Once she feels comfortable with you, her true personality blossoms and she turns into the sweetest ball of love! If Rocky sounds like she could be a good fit for your home, stop by our San Diego Campus and ask about her today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
