Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rawley is a handsome boy with his shepherd/lab looks and shiny soft fur. He loves everyone he meets and enjoys as many pets and attention as you are willing to give him. Typical of a shepherd, he connects deeply with his people. He's also smart and looks up to his handler for cues. He is currently living with his foster dad and a small resident female dog. He also spends a lot of time at a family friend’s house with two 13-year-old children.
Rawley is an amazing dog in so many ways. His foster rescued him from a shelter euthanizing for space knowing he would shine outside of the shelter, and he has! He is four years old, well-behaved, nondestructive, housetrained, and crate trained. He has medium energy, walks well on leash, and is used to wearing a harness. He is very trainable and already knows “sit” and “shake” commands. He can entertain himself with a ball and by jumping into a doggy pool. He really loves the water. He is sweet natured and affectionate- just to round out his impressive portfolio.
Regarding other dogs, Rawley has done well with his foster dad’s tiny (and spicy!) female dog. He is patient with her and even walks away on his own when she tries to provoke him. Rawley is initially apprehensive around other dogs, but we believe he will accept other dogs with proper introductions. Examples of proper introductions include pack walks and separating the dogs initially in the house and then gradually integrating them over a few days.
Rawley is ready to move on to his forever home. This sweet boy has so much to offer. He wants to greet you when you walk in the door. He wants to be your best friend. He wants to love you and be loved by you. Adopt a great dog, adopt Rawley!
