Rocket is a bit of a Facebook sensation, known for his zest and Spirit! He is a Special Needs pup who has never noticed that he's a little different from his friends. He is a beautiful Lab mis, born around February, 2023.

An actual diagnosis has been elusive though he has seen an orthopedic specialist. His back legs are just a bit "wonky". They have gotten stronger over time and he runs and plays with his friends just fine.

Rocket is used to being the spoiled baby of our rescue. As a small pup, he'd be tuckered out after play time so he'd curl up with his blanket on his foster mom's lap. He still thinks he's an 8 pound puppy, though he weighs about 40 pounds now...and still insists on lap time. Who could say no to that?

Rocket is dog friendly (always with proper introductions) and goes on daily off leash walks on our nature trail. He has fantastic recall and has been around horses quite a bit too! He loves playing with other dogs and his favorite outside toy is a stick or piece of firewood! Now, these are toys that he doesn't like to "share" and we always joke about how sticks are in short supply in the woods so all the dog friends want the stick that Rocket has.
