My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Beardsley!

The spirited 3-year-old Lab mix weighing 46 lbs, with boundless energy and a heart as big as his goofy grin! Beardsley is ready to fill your home with laughter and love, bringing joy to everyone he meets. Beardsley is an energetic and outgoing boy who loves nothing more than making new friends and spreading smiles wherever he goes. His playful nature and outgoing personality make him a beloved companion for families of all ages.

If there are children in his forever home, Beardsley is open to kids of any age. His social nature and gentle demeanor make him a wonderful playmate and friend for children of all ages.

Beardsley shows potential to live with another dog in his forever home, although he may come on a bit strong at first. With the right fit and a slow introduction, he could make a good companion, but he may not mind being the only dog in his forever home either. He is very excited when he sees cats and small animals, so he needs a home with no other small animals to ensure a successful transition to a new home!

Beardsley's future home will be one filled with laughter, love, and plenty of adventures as he continues to spread joy to everyone he meets. With the right match, he's sure to become an integral part of the family and bring happiness to all.

Ready to welcome the energy and enthusiasm of Beardsley into your life? Call 330-487-0333 ext 226 to schedule an appointment and let the delightful presence of Beardsley fill your home with love and laughter. Your forever friend is just a call away!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
