My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Title: Ready to Blast Off with Rocket!

Hey there, humans! My name is Rocket and I am one handsome and energetic dude! I may have a serious case of "puppy energy" despite being 1 year old, but hey, that just means I have all the more love and fun to share with you!

I'm a dashing Lab mix and was found as a stray, but don't worry, I don't hold it against anyone. I'm just grateful to have a chance at finding my forever home. And boy, am I ready to find one!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a male and as mentioned, I am quite the busy bee. I love to run, play, and explore, so I'm hoping to find an active home that will keep me busy and provide me with some much-needed training. But don't worry, I'm a quick learner and eager to please!

I'm quite the social butterfly and a total people pleaser. I just love being around humans and soaking up all the love and attention I can get. I'm also looking for a furry sibling who can keep up with my high energy and join me in all my adventures.

My charming and happy personality shines through in everything I do. I may be independent, but I also love being a part of a family. I'm a great listener and I promise to be your loyal and loving companion for life.

So what do you say, humans? Are you ready to blast off with Rocket and make me a part of your family? Come meet me today and let's see if we're the perfect match. I'm ready to shower you with love and kisses. See you soon!

More about this rescue

A.C.A. is a network of foster homes, an entity formed to help animals from Evansville Vanderburgh Animal Care and Control. Most of the animals in our foster care program have all come directly from EVACC.

We choose to pull from EVACC because of the thousands of great animals that come through the shelter each year. Thousands of cats and dogs (and some chickens, horses, and small furries) are relinquished to the shelter each year. Some are given up by owners, victims of hard times, or new living circumstances. A larger portion have come in as strays, found on the streets of Evansville, held for 7 days at the shelter for an owner to reclaim them, and then given a very short period of time in which to find an adoptive home before the kennel is needed again for the next animal that comes in.
