Mavis is a beautiful brindle Great Dane. Life threw a curveball at this pup when her owner faced tough times, and now she's on the lookout for a forever home.
Mavis is a bit of a survivor – having faced a car accident at the age of one. She has a metal plate in her left foreleg. But don't let that fool you; this girl is all about living life to the fullest, and there have been no lasting issues from that little hiccup.
A home without dogs and cats would be best. Despite her imposing size, Mavis has a soft spot for little humans. She's been around infants and kids, doing well with them, even if she doesn't quite grasp the concept of her own size. Housebroken, leash trained, crate trained, and a seasoned car passenger, Mavis is a well-mannered gal, ready for adventures. However, basic commands such as Sit, Down seem to elude her.
New people are met with a bark or two, showing off her protective nature, but rest assured, once the introductions are made, she's a sweetheart. Watch out for men in hats, though – for some reason, Mavis gets a tad nervous. Maybe it's a fashion critique? Regardless, a little extra TLC during hat-wearing introductions is in order.
Tug of war is Mavis' fav – it's her game of choice, and she takes it seriously. Water, however, is not her friend, no high dives in her future. She is not a destructive dog.
Mavis is not just a beautiful Dane; she's a bundle of fun and affection, seeking a forever home where she can continue to play, love, and be loved in return. If you're ready for a joyful companion with a heart as big as they come, Mavis is the girl for you!

More about this rescue
To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.
To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.
We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
