Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/.
Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.
Meet Mia!
Mia is a 14-year-old (according to paperwork) we think much younger, 10 lb. Yorkshire terrier whose owner dropped her off at a crowded shelter. Tiny and alone, we immediately welcomed her into our care.
Mia received a spay and dental with us, and had a mammary mass removed. Although it showed to be a low grade cancer, the vet was able to fully remove it, and she is now completely healthy! She does have one spot of hair loss on her back, but it doesn’t require any treatment. Mia requires no medications and has good vision and hearing. She can easily do stairs, gets along great with other dogs and enjoys going on walks. Mia is also fully potty trained on a consistent schedule.
Mia is an energetic pup who loves to play and also loves being in someone’s lap and getting petted and cuddled. She currently sleeps quietly in her foster mom’s bed at night. Mia is super fun and curious and will provide you with endless entertainment. Who could say no? Apply today
