My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cosmo Starlight followed her mom, Mama Moon (also up for adoption) into her foster home one rainy day, curious but uncertain about humans. They had been living in a neighbor’s garage and struggling to survive. Cosmo still doesn’t fully trust humans, but she appreciates the food and safety that come with indoor life. She remains very attached to and affectionate with Moon. This is a highly energetic and playful youngster with an impish spirit. The feather wand is her favorite and she will do spectacular leaps with it, but she also loves hunting little creature toys. She often hangs out in the same room with people, at a distance. Once in great while, she snuggles into a person on the couch. She only rarely tolerates petting, and quickly turns it into a chance to play. She is extremely fearful of attempts to pick her up and often meets a hand outstretched to pet her with a painless swat. She HAS warmed up over time, and likely will continue to do so, if given patience and love. She would do best if adopted with her mom, Moon. She is largely indifferent to the 9-year-old in her foster home. She needs a family that will give her space, play with her, and work patiently to earn her trust.

Cosmo Starlight is just under a year old and is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained.

* You must be 18 or older to adopt. If you’re under 18, you must have a parent or guardian submit an application on your behalf.
* All cats must be kept indoors. In special circumstances, we may waive this requirement on a case-by-case basis.
* We do not adopt to any home that will declaw an animal. Declawing is cruel and unnecessary.
* All cats/kittens must be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
* Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs or into a home with another active cat or cat-friendly dog.
* Your adoption fee helps to cover a small part of the costs of veterinary care. However, we strongly recommend that you take your new kitty to your vet for a check-up shortly after adopting to establish a relationship and a lifetime of regular check-ups and care.
