Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Available in Whitehall, PA - If you are looking for a sweet, goofy, medium-size velcro dog - Jasper is the boy for you! Like most Aussies at first, he is very skittish and won't make eye contact. With some patience and love, he will warm up!
Jasper fit right in with his foster sisters and brother but refused to make eye contact with foster mom for a few days. However, he did follow her around out of curiosity and as she went about her business while he observed her and how she was with his foster siblings. Once that trust was built, he transformed into a lovable lap dog who wants nothing to do but cuddle! Once he realized he had permission to come on foster's lap, he came right up! However, if told "no," he listened. He is very smart and learned quickly where his dish was, learned what was meant when told "Goodnight" (would go to crate), or "outside" (went to door).
Jasper loves playing fetch outside, chasing his foster sisters around, and giving kisses to anyone who will be receptive. When he is truly happy (or hungry!) he will do a full body wiggle and try to give you hugs! He is crate trained and housebroken, knows some commands such as "sit" and "stay." There was some marking with the foster's male dog but after a few days of redirecting he no longer did it.
He is about a year old and 30 pounds of soft, sweet, goofy, cuddle bug. He aims to please and with a little love he will melt your heart as he has ours! Jaspar will do best in a home with at least one other dog to 'show him the ropes' and to play with. Great with cats, probably should go to to a home without young children.
If Jasper sounds good for you, please fill out the application:
There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
