My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Raven is a female Cattle Dog/Great Pyrenees mix (best guess), estimated to be 1 year old and currently weighing 50lbs. She and her 3 siblings were surrendered to Freer Animal Shelter and were then taken in by our rescue partner in Texas. Raven is shy until she gets to know you, then is a total sweetheart.

Foster Update:  We are so proud of the progress Raven has made since joining the rescue. This sweet girl is a little unsure of the world, but has bravely been exploring new sites, smells and sounds. Raven loves her foster mom, foster brothers and sisters (both canine and humane!) and is affectionate with the resident feline. She loves having a yard to run around and play in, and has recently discovered the joy of TOYS! Raven is a bit insecure on walks, but she continues to make progress. She is not leash reactive, just unsure of things outside of homebase. Raven is house and crate trained, and has good manners inside. She is affectionate once she knows she can trust you, and has the softest ears. We adore her little under bite, and smile whenever we get a sneaky kiss. She needs a companion dog (or two or three) in her adoptive home. She has never met a dog she doesn't like and adapts her play style to the dogs she is interacting with. She wrestles with the resident Chihuahua and plays chase with our Doberman. Raven is just a joy! She is not vocal in the house, but will patrol the yard and let you know if there is anything suspicious; but she is not a nuisance barker and is quite in the house unless she is asking to go out to potty. She does need a securely fenced yard, and her ideal adopter would have shy dog experience.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
