Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3

***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.

We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.

Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal.

As per usual it seems these days that the call was put out for the need from commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of Omaha. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. But despite where they lived & were going to be used to make money off their backs, they are always the most precious bundles of joy. Cinnamon’s life was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. He was one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 24 lives including Cinnamon.
Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Cinnamon how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as he is in our beloved rescue.

Cinnamon, her siblings & his friends & were bought back to the WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home.

Very sweet Mr Cinnamon, wants you to pick her up & receive love. This girl is very accepting of pretty much anything that comes her way & is quite carefree & will go with the flow. He definitely finds comfort with her dog friends & has never met a dog she doesn’t like. She does have her bursts of energy with running & playing but then also can be very calm & take the world in around him. He is a very gentle soul with your typical beautiful poodle personality.
The reality is, the foster homes are her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside. We have tested Cinnamon in a daycare & she has done wonderful in the daycare environment.
She is wonderful with her baths, being dried by the hairdryer is not a great fan of but will tolerate it & getting groomed she is doing well with.

Cinnamon is a wonderful eater & is not shy about eating & has not been since the day we got her. She eats a clean diet meaning raw fruits, vegetables, proteins & grains along with supplements. She loves collagen sticks & bully sticks.
She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. She will also want to sleep in bed with you or with his dog friends snuggled up.
He would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash.

Cinnamon rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she hwent to be sold & when we got her & going to & from the vets originally but now we have taken him on so many car rides she loves a good car ride. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Cinnamon as you can imagine spent the first part of her life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Cinnamon where someone is home during the day or he can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them.
Cinnamon is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on her

Cinnamon has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently with other dogs & adores other dogs. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for her to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard if you have a free standing home.

Cinnamon is roughly 8 lbs & he is 1 year old & ‭a miniature poodle‬. She has put on weight since being in the rescue. What she is mixed with we are not sure, female, he is neutered by laser by our wonderful vets, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed & as a preventative treated for giardia.

We have spent far more on Cinnamon with paying for her from a commercial breeder. Bringing her to WA with her travel/flight costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in Omaha & WA etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Her adoption fee does not even cover half of what we have spent on this little lady.

Cinnamon has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not him around small children so we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.

We were not there when Cinnamon was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.

As with all of our rescues & Cinnamon’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Cinnamon potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.

We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.

Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Cinnamon & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Cinnamon who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Cinnamon.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.

Cinnamon has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
