Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Available for Adoption! Roxy has been with us 2 months; she is so ready to start her life with her forever family!
Name: Roxy
Location of dog: Kitchener
Breed: Presa/Bully mix
Weight: approx. 50 lbs
Gender: Female
Spayed/Neutered: Not just had her heat cycle, she needs to wait 2 months to be spayed
Age: 10 months
Energy Level: Medium-High
Medical (shots etc): UTD
Microchipped: No, will be at the time of Spay
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Yes but she likes to chase them sometimes (to play, not hurt them)
Good with kids: Yes, but can be a little nervous but is very gentle and doesn't jump.
Good with strangers: Yes, warms up within seconds of being offered treats.
Guarding Issues: No
House Trained: Can dribble with excitement when she is taken out of her crate.
Crate Trained: Yes, during the day but she hates it at night and would prefer to snuggle in your bed
Destructive: Has tendencies and needs lots of supervision, puppy behavior!
Leash skills: Good on a leash. Can pull when in a new environment but is easily corrected.
Okay with manipulations: Yes
Known commands: Sit, leave it, lay down, bed, and learning stay, off, get down
Behavior Issues: She is still a puppy but does not jump on people and is relatively calm inside the house. Roxy does try to grab anything to put in her mouth which should not be a problem with a puppy-proof house and lots of chew toys.
Medical issues: N/A
Other Observations: Roxy is a very lovable and cuddly girl. She needs someone who can spend a lot of time with training. She will be the best dog ever for a very lovable family/person who has a very active lifestyle or lots of property to be able to run around.
From Roxy’s Fosters: “Roxy has been an amazing F.A.B.R foster addition to our family. She is absolutely fantastic around our 2 year old daughter and even lets her hold the leash for walks inside the house. She can be a bit apprehensive to strangers but with a few treats in hand, she is ready to cuddle next to just about anyone within a few minutes. Roxy loves being around her people but is always willing to go into her crate when she needs a break. On walks, she has come a long way with walking on a leash and hardly ever pulls. Roxy greets other dogs on walks with a wagging tail and is always wanting to say hello and play. She is an eager learner and a natural at playing fetch. Roxy searches out cuddles from just about everyone that walks into the house and just wants to show love to her family, she will make a great addition to just about any family.
From Kari: Roxy spent a week with my pack and family while her fosters went away and she fit in like she had always been there. She was so welcoming when meeting our 2 dogs and 2 cats, she was so gentle with taking treats, listened so well and gave the BEST cuddles ever. She loved a good play with my dogs, but enjoyed being curled up on the couch with her people – this girl could stay in bed and cuddle all day! She may not be the best at bringing the ball back yet, but she does love to run after it! Her off leash skills were pretty great for only being 10 months, her and my dog would run wild in a field and she always responded to commands and always came back when called. Once she has that bond with you, she will do anything to make you happy (treats are the way to her heart). Roxy has showed how loyal of a dog she is and how much love and spunk she has waiting for her foever family. She has been with us for 2 months and has had barely any interest and its heart breaking but she is such a good dog.
