My name is Bernie!

Bernie has been with us since he was rescued as a small puppy roughly two years ago. He loves to play with our other small terrier mix, and he does very well on walks and when we take him to the dog park. We have three kids in our home, and he has done well around them and other people. He does require a strong owner who knows how to handle large dogs, and he will need to be reinforced to be gentle when he is fed sometimes.

We must let Bernie go because I have generalized anxiety, and his demeanor is not conducive to my condition. I also work from home, and Bernie barks any time the door is rung or he senses someone approaching. He is very stubborn, and getting him to calm down can be challenging.

Bernie loves to be with or near his family. He LOVES to get on the couch and in bed with us. This can be challenging with his size

His best home would be somewhere that he can bark and play more outside, and where his owner can handle or appreciate his alertness.
