Cleo needs a hero! She is a beautiful, playful 7-year-old dilute tortoise-shell kitty who loves to be around people.
As a kitten, she was adopted from Kitty City and lived with her person for 6 years, at which time her adopter became ill and died. Neighbors took her in but a month later relinquished her to a shelter, who scanned her chip and learned she was originally a Kitty City cat. So, we took her back and want to find her forever person/people!
People who have expressed interest in her have been hesitant to adopt her because she is afraid of new people, and she expressed that fear through hissing, growling, and even sometimes swiping at feet/ankles. This behavior subsides when she learns she can trust.
She also does not appear to be a lap cat, nor does she like being picked up or held. She does, however, enjoy being nearby and will likely settle in near her person as a fantastic companion.
She has been introduced to the foster’s dog and cats, and while she sometimes hisses, she has not been aggressive. This leads us to believe that she would adapt to a home with other cat-friendly pets if she is given a slow and patient introduction to them.
Cleo has been in her current foster home since January 2023, and she is so ready to find her permanent home!
Cleo needs a quiet home with someone who is patient and will give her a few weeks to adjust. She is a tortie and can be a little feisty at times, but who isn't?! Will you be Cleo's hero?Cleo was born approximately June 23, 2017, and her adoption fee is $105, or adopt 2, and the 2nd is half off. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and worming, tested negative for feline leukemia and is microchipped.
