Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hello, my name is Moose, and I'm a big-hearted cat in search of my forever home. I had a rough start in life, but I haven't let that dampen my spirit or my affectionate nature.
I was found at a barn, where I was being bullied by the other cats. Thankfully, a kind woman who cares for the barn cats reached out for help on my behalf. When I arrived, I was a bit worse for wear - my ear was torn, and I was feeling defeated. But with love and care, I've blossomed into a happy, confident guy.
Despite my past challenges, I'm a loving and gentle soul. I enjoy being around people and crave human companionship. I'm as sweet as can be and love nothing more than a good snuggle session.
It's true that I have FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but that doesn't define me. With proper care and attention, I can live a full, long, and healthy life. I could even live with other cats who are accepting and friendly towards me.
If you're looking for a furry companion who will fill your home with love and warmth, start the journey towards making me a part of your family. The adoption application is at northcountrypetadoption.org

More about this rescue
We are a volunteer-run, 501(c)3 foster-based rescue, which means we do not have a central building. Our rescue registration number with the State of NY is RR131. For logistical reasons, all of our foster homes are in Lewis and Jefferson Counties. If there is an animal you are interested in meeting, we ask you to first fill out the adoption application, which can be found in the main menu. You do not need to live in Lewis or Jefferson county to adopt; we do adopt out of state (and to Canada as well!)
