My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTERED IN: Adoption Center - Frankfort, IL 60423
ESTIMATED DOB: August 2023
COLOR/BREED: Black Shorthair
KIDS: Likely
DOGS: Unknown
CATS: Yes

HISTORY:
Burrito and her family (momma Taco Bell and sisters Chalupa and Gordita) were surrendered to a shelter and then transferred to our care.

ABOUT:
Burrito is a darling girl with a positive, happy go lucky attitude. She'll be there to greet you at the door and ask his your day went, but won't smother you to the point where it's annoying. She's social and friendly, and while hasn't quite figured out how to sit still on your lap, she will constantly rub against your legs when you're seated, politely asking for attention. Her rhythmic, soothing purrs fill an entire room when she's content. When you start stroking her, she may just even flop over and show you her belly, which (so long as you aren't too rough) you ARE allowed to touch! Burrito, like any youngster, likes to play, climb and explore, but she's not overly rowdy. She really has a charming, good-natured attitude, so should do well with respectful, cat savvy children. Burrito was raised with her mom and sisters, so we think she'd really enjoy a kind kitty companion in her new home (or consider adopting her with one of her family members).

More about this rescue

Lulu’s Locker Rescue is a nonprofit, volunteer-run companion animal rescue working to bring to light the plight of black cats and dogs in shelters as well as the misconceptions surrounding FIV cats. We aim to lower the euthanasia rate of these animals by educating the public and providing foster care as we seek out permanent homes. We are committed to the protection of the misjudged and wrongly stereotyped through compassion and respect, which we believe both animals and human beings deserve.

We are based out of Frankfort, IL, and rescue cats and dogs in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
