Bagheera is the perfect mix of friendly and independent. On dreary Vancouver evenings, when you are stuck indoors, Bagheera will approach with a friendly meow, settle at your feet, and warm the room with a gentle purr. On brighter days, when friends visit, he loves to make an appearance. His squeaky 'hello' will charm your guests, encouraging them to shower him with pets and scratches, which he will graciously accept.

When you need some time alone, Bagheera is respectful of your space. An offering of one of his favourite treats will earn his affection and lull him into a cozy nap on a windowsill where he can watch the outside world and fall into a daydream.

Bagheera is best suited for a home without children or other cats. He is friendly, independent, quirky, and playful. He is eagerly waiting to find a forever home where he can share his charm and personality.

1.
Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
