Sugar and Victor arrived at BCHA separately, then found each other and bonded in foster care.
Sugar came to us in January which an injured front leg. She was found caught in a trap and brought to our vet's office. After surgery to amputate the damaged leg, she was surrendered to BCHA so we could help her find an indoor home. Sugar moved into a foster home so that she could recover from surgery. She is shy and somewhat reserved with new people.
Victor arrived at the beginning of March and was unable to put weight on his back leg. It was immediately obvious that he loved people, seeking pets and attention even with a painful injury. Luckily, our vet was able to schedule surgery the next day to amputate the damaged leg and relieve his pain. He then moved into the same foster home for his recovery.
As soon as Victor arrived, their foster mom noticed a change in Sugar. She came out of her kennel (where she preferred to sleep) to check out the newcomer. He was equally enchanted, watching her across the room and spending time laying by her kennel. And when they finally were allowed out together, he tried to nuzzle her cheek with his cone and they walked around shoulder to shoulder.
Victor is a very friendly boy who loves laps and human attention. He is doing well adjusting to his new legged life, and has already started jumping on and off the sofa and going up and down the stairs. Sugar is more reserved around people, but she accepts attention when it's offered. She is happiest when hanging out with her new best friend.
Victor and Sugar would love to stay together but can go their separate way as long as their are other cats in the household.
Sugar and Victor's adoption fee is $100/$150 for both, which includes:
_A thorough vet exam
_Age-appropriate vaccinations
_A microchip for their safety
_A spay/neuter procedure
