Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet, WIGGLES, an adorable Calico kitten with a cute stub for a tail and wobble when she walks. She's listed as "special needs" on account of her head tilt and balance issues - which have improved, exponentially, since her rescue.
Wiggles has been through a LOT in her short life when she found herself impounded at Orange County Shelter: only a month old, with a severe tail degloving and difficulty holding her head steady.
We had no way of knowing how she sustained this type of trauma, only that she required an immediate, partial tail amputation. The surgeon suspects her neurological issue is related to the tail/spine injury... although there's a chance she may recover her balance. Otherwise, she eats, plays and uses the litter box like a normal kitten.
Wiggles has an on/off switch... like an extended-life battery when she is in "play" mode or has the zoomies. Her favorite past times are chasing the feather toy, wrestling with her extended fur-family - which consists of two small dogs and three cats, and cuddling on her human's chest! Her newest adventure involves riding the Roomba!
Her foster mom writes: "She reminds us of a squirrel or bunny from her movements... especially from behind, when her little stub is in the air! She enjoys jumping around on the bed when someone is with her. She likes to see her humans and sleeps where she can see them. She’ll announce herself when she needs to potty and is very playful with other kittens. She’ll give her humans lots of kisses. The second she gets picked up, she purrs immediately. She’s quite the adventurer and loves to explore."
You'll find her complete rescue journey chronicled in Photo Album #31 on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (including videos and updates on ALL our cats and kittens). Be sure to check out her adoption video and fall in L-O-V-E!!
Wiggles' adoption will include her:
* Spay and amputation surgery,
* De-worming,
* FVRCP vaccinations,
* Flea and mite treatment (with Revolution),
* and Micro chipping!
~ $150. adoption fee, adoption contract and home check apply / $250 for a pair ~
* Please only contact us if you'll be making Little Ms. Wigglesworth a permanent member of your household and will be keeping her safe indoors.
** We do not adopt out kittens or cats where they will be the only pet at home. Kittens rely on each other for emotional support and continued social and behavioral development. For example: another kitten or cat will teach them when they're playing too rough or biting too hard. Plus, cats and kittens get very lonely when you're not at home! Having a playmate will keep them happier, healthier and out of trouble. **We offer a discount when adopting a pair!
*** You'll find all our adoptables on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" - including their rescue story, photos and video updates!
