My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pongo is a super sweet and incredibly smart and polite 9-month-old, 60lb poodle mix who’s ready to find his forever family. This clever pup loves to play and entertain himself with his favorite toys which include his nylabone, rubber ball and bone, and most importantly, his plush squeaky toys.

Pongo was surrendered to us by a family who could no longer care for him. A few days before we welcomed him into our rescue, he stepped on broken glass and sustained a deep laceration to his paw. Luckily, our team at @marinavetcenter was able to get him all stitched up and on antibiotics, and he has since healed beautifully.

Pongo takes instruction well, is very close to being fully housebroken, and is content to chill after proper exercise. He would love a family with another dog to romp around with or a family who likes to go outside and be active.

He’ll be your shadow all around the house if you allow it, but also sleeps comfortably in his crate. He is working on his manners with other dogs on leash, but we know with some practice and training he will learn the ropes. We will be covering a private leash walking session with a professional dog trainer for Pongo and his future adopters. This way, they will have all the tools and knowledge they need to set him up for success on walks.

His foster family includes a 9-year-old kid who he is very sweet and gentle with. Pongo is an AMAZING dog. The kind that you adopt and wonder how you ever lived without! We can’t wait for him to find his match.
