My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Reeses Puppycups is such a special girl of about 8 1/2 years old that was dealt a really rough paw in life. Her owners abandoned her when they were evicted from their home. Reeses was a real mess when she was finally discovered but we got her fed, cleaned up, and all of the good medical care she needed too. Reeses had some masses that were removed and they were found to be malignant. They are gone, but the areas will need to be watched closely in the future. Reeses is so forgiving, loving, kind, gentle, and just an all-around great girl that loves people. She's truly a doll of a dog. Unfortunately, she does not enjoy the company of other pets but it's likely that she lived with kids because she's so great and gentle with people. She's still active, silly, playful, and fun-loving too, but she's content to just chill out and lay at your feet too. She doesn't ask for much, just a family to love and care for her always. More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
