Hi all! My name is Bender , but my friends call me Charlie! I have been living with my foster family for 2.5 months now and my foster mom says I am going to be a hard one to let go, but I am so excited to find my very own forever family! While living with my foster family I have gotten about 95% potty trained and now if I have any accidents, it is only in my kennel while they are at work and even then, foster mom says this is not often – less than once a week! Did I mention I’m kennel trained? I get in nicely to sleep and while my foster parents go to work each day and I eat my meals in there happily and don’t even make too much noise when they get home to be let out! Foster mom and dad taught me that! They say I am super smart and a really fast learner! I also learned to signal that I want to go out by standing by the baby gate and if they don’t notice I’m quietly standing by the gate, I go over to them to get their attention and walk back to the baby gate! Did I mention one of my foster siblings is a cat? I have gotten A LOT better with my cat sibling and think with continued training I could probably be trained to live peacefully with a cat sibling!
I would love a family who would be able to take me to the dog park every day, even a short 20 minutes would help me get those zooms out and be much more able to be a potato when we are all at home! Also, when I say zooms I mean ZOOMS! My favorite activity is running and I am quite fast if I do say so myself! My one flaw in my running technique is that I like to turn around and see who is chasing me and then they always catch me, but that’s part of the fun, I think! Alternatively, 20 minutes each day in the yard with my forever family throwing a ball or letting me sniff out there would also be amazing! My foster mom and dad are working on teaching me that I do not need to alert them at everything that passes in front of our house and I’m trying! Now sometimes I only bark if someone walks on the sidewalk right in front of our house but not across the street anymore! Or sometimes I don’t bark at all! Foster mom says I really want to please and that’s so true, when they tell me something they don’t like I really try to listen because their love is my main want in this world! That, and being by them! Did I mention I love snuggles? If foster mom and dad are on the couch, I want to be right next to them. I will put my head on their lap or their legs if they have their legs stretched out and I will sit there happily for as long as we’re all sitting there! Snuggles are my favorite. I am working on walking on a leash, as the world is so exciting I have trouble not pulling, but I think with a leash walking class or generally someone working with me on it consistently I will get it! Also as far as my breeds go, it’s unknown but foster mom says I may have some greyhound because of my speed and teeny tiny waist, and maybe some vocal dog breeds because I love chatting every once in a while, which foster mom says is incredibly cute. I have also met dogs of all sizes and humans of all ages and love all of them! I am an excited pup and sometimes do jump and lick because it’s just so exciting! But with some training I think I can work on both! My foster mom calls me happy-go-lucky, but what would make me the happiest is finding my family! What do you think, will you give me a chance?
