*Daniel is currently in foster; if you'd like to meet him, call the shelter to schedule a meet in the foster home! He should go to a home w/ a fenced in yard. Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: LOVES all dogs; should go home w/ playful dog ·Kids: exposed, & did well Hi, my name is Daniel ; I came to WCHS from an over-crowded shelter in Oklahoma. I am a wee bit on the shy side so I am hoping for a tranquil home with a family who will be patient and give me the time I need to blossom into a phenomenal pooch. I need someone who will confidently and strategically introduce me to new things. It will be critical for my people to use a martingale collar on me so that I do not accidentally slip way if I am startled. I will also be counting on you to keep me safe when we are out and about and ensure I cannot get out of the home or yard unsupervised. I am also hoping we can work on some confidence building; I have heard that learning new skills can help to boost a pup's self-assuredness. I do walk well on a leash and when I am out with a human I enjoy exploring; I sort of prance like a stallion. I do OK when cars pass by unless they are noisy or come upon me unexpectedly, then I get a bit unsettled. I do enjoy tasty morsels but when I am nervous, I cannot think about snacking until I relax a little. I may be small but I have a spectacular nose and really enjoy soaking in all the wonderous smells in the great outdoors. I must confess that sometimes when I am out for a walk I get the zoomies and run in circles around you; just a bouncy pupster having a grand time and burning a little energy. I am a curious chap and I do have an adventurous spirit; I just take things a tad cautiously. When we are out discovering new things, seeing new places and meeting new people I will need you to give me time to become comfortable so my true essence comes shining through. I am somewhat ‘tail-challenged' so I do not get all waggy like some other pooches who have extravagant and showy tails but you can see my joy when my whole body is relaxed and I am leaping about in ecstasy with a smile on my face. Once I invite someone into my inner circle, I am quite the lap-lover, so it works out nicely that I weigh only 18 pounds - the perfect size for almost any lap. I have been having fun joining in some of the playgroups at WCHS when all the dogs are small so I do not get overwhelmed. I may be a little reserved but I am a total sweetheart and have oodles of charm. I hope you stop by to meet me in person; we can spend a little time together and fall in love. In my foster home I play with dogs all day and it really helps me come out of my shell, I am required to go home with another dog. #2

Visit the shelter. We have an application that takes about 15 minutes to fill out once you have found a pet you like. You call back the next day which gives us time to review the application and gives you 24 hours to think about your decision to adopt. You can also complete our on-line application and get approved in advance of finding the perfect companion. Once approved, you are able to adopt an animal the same day.
