My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Edmond, Oklahoma
DOB: 12/18/2019

Hi there! I’m Lucas, a 5 to 6-year-old Labradane, which means I’m a delightful mix of Labrador Retriever and Great Dane. Let me tell you a bit about myself from my perspective!

I absolutely love my toys, especially my “babies.” When it’s potty time, I like to take one of my babies outside with me. If I forget to bring it back, just ask me to find it, and I’ll happily go get it for you. I’m a pro at bath time and enjoy playing fetch. Even though I’m crate trained, you can trust me to behave when you leave the house—I’ve never torn anything up!

Most of the time, you’ll find me curled up on the bed, taking long naps. I get along well with my female Great Dane roommate, and I’m great with kids aged 12 and up. Small dogs aren’t really my thing, and I’m a bit stingy with my kisses, but I make up for it with my gentle and playful temperament.

I have a heart of gold and a soul filled with boundless love. My favorite pastime is playing fetch and finding a sunny spot in the yard to soak up some rays. I also love car rides and eagerly stick my head out of the window to feel the breeze. We’re working on leash training, and I’m already potty trained.

Despite all my wonderful qualities, I’m still searching for my forever home where I can share my love and companionship with a family of my own. With my gentle nature, playful spirit, and unwavering loyalty, I have so much love to give to the right family. If you’re looking for your first rescue dog or just a trustworthy companion, look no further—I’m your guy!

Can’t wait to meet you and become a part of your family!

Love, Lucas

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
