Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Camper was found tied to a bench outside of Chula Vista Animal Care Facility. We scooped him up to become a Frosted Face on February 21st. He is around 10 years old, weighs 71 lbs., and is very friendly and sweet. If you are looking for a loving, fun, and cuddly best friend, Camper might be the one for you!
Camper is an all-around good boy! He's mellow, likes to play with toys, and gets along well with the 8+ dogs in his play group. Camper enjoys going on our weekly FFF hikes, has good leash manners, and walks slowly and steadily for about two miles on the trails.
Casper also enjoys going on solo outings with volunteers and earns high marks for being a well-behaved, relaxed date at wineries, parks, and restaurants. He rides nicely in cars, too!
Camper spent time in a foster home after having surgery to remove most of his tail due to a cancerous mass, and we are so thankful that he was able to recover in a home and get lots of TLC. His Foster Mom shared:
"Camper is healthy, happy, and all healed. I am here to tell you how wonderful he is!!
This sweet boy would love to be in his fur ever home, preferably with someone who has experience with anxious dogs. After being abandoned and tied up to a bench outside of the shelter, he likes two things now: toys to take with him and knowing where his person is. But that doesn't mean you can't leave him alone! As his foster mom, I obviously couldn't take him everywhere. So he stayed home when I went to work or the store, and he did just fine!
Camper is GREAT with kids and other dogs. He was curious about my cats, but didn't react to them. He is a polite eater, takes his meds in his food like a champ, and loves to sleep a good chunk of the day. He will walk with you, but no need to do a mile or two...he's totally happy with a 20 minute stroll and a rest in the sunshine.
Camper is house-trained, rides great in the car, and sleeps through the night. I can't wait to see this wonderful boy find his forever home!"
Camper is now back on-site waiting to meet his forever family. In the meantime, he is enjoying fun adventures away from our facility with volunteers. He recently went paddle boarding, and he was a natural! He sat, stood, and even snuggled with the volunteer paddling him around the bay. Camper was so relaxed!
If you are looking for a new best friend with a heart of gold, please come meet Camper!
