Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My Way or the Highway: My name is My Way or the Highway. People call me My Way. You may think it's a silly name, but I'll tell you, it really fits my personality!
I don’t remember anything before April 28th, 2010. See, I had gotten myself pregnant and then incarcerated in a county dog pound in Kentucky. I held off as long as I could -- and the day the Rescuers came to save me – April 28th -- so did my puppies. I gave birth in the car on the way to freedom. But I was tired and scared and it was a messy labor (I don’t recommend having babies in a moving car!). 10 days later I got really sick and had to go to the hospital – without my babies. I stayed there for 4 days. Finally, I started to feel better and they let me come home and be with my babies again. Another 10 days passed as I recuperated at home and my puppies were growing and thriving -- we were so happy. Then suddenly, my puppies started getting sick. Apparently, whatever I had, they now had. BREW tried and tried, and spent a lot of time and money and emotion over the next 2 weeks but sadly, my puppies, Freeway, Speedway, Parkway, Byway and Subway, all passed away. It was a very sad time for me, but I know I will see them all again one day.
Every day I get better and better and I’ve started to act my age (I’m very young, you know ... less than 2 years old!). Although I’m very shy with new people and new places, once I get to know you and feel comfortable, you will see that I am still a rambunctious puppy! My foster mom says I’m ‘so adorable’ and ‘so delicious’ – it’s corny but it makes me feel good.
Here’s what I like: I like playing with other dogs. I like the cat, too. She doesn’t run away when I sniff her – sometimes, she even bats me in the face with her paw, but I don’t mind! I like sitting on your lap and letting you rub my belly and give me kisses and cuddles (I’m only 20 lbs!). I like to go for walks on a leash, and run around the yard (and the house!). A fence would be nice (to help remind me about the property lines) but it’s not required. By the way, if you have a baby-gate or other barrier in the house to keep your pets confined in an area, chances are I’ll get over it. Really. I can leap tall buildings in a single bound, scale a wall; do a double axel/triple Lutz combination, all that. But, I go into my crate very nicely, and I like to sleep there, too, without a peep! Also, I like having a gazillion toys. I like to play with soft toys and squeaker toys, bones and ropes, rubber toys, and balls, too! I like to take the fluffy stuff out of things and find the prize – the part that squeaks! If you have kids, and they have toys, they have to be willing to share with me because I can’t tell the difference yet between your toys and my toys.
Speaking of your toys, I also like to re-decorate. I don’t have a college degree, but I think I am very good at it. If you leave stuff around (shoes, clothes, papers, blankets, cell phones, eye glasses, a mop – anything, really!) or leave a closet door open, I will move anything I can carry -- where I think it looks better.
Don’t worry, I don’t chew them or hurt them – I just like to put it somewhere else! My foster mom will take it away from me and say ‘My Way, that’s not yours to play with!’ but I see her giggle so I know she’s not really mad. Don’t I sound great??!! So, here’s what I need from you: I need you to let me be a part of your family and to love me forever. You must have a sense of humor -- cause I will make you laugh! Please e-mail BREW right now and tell them you must have me!
