Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi! My name is Dougy! I am a 1.5 year old love bug who came to the shelter with an adult female dog about 4 months ago. I made volunteer friends but started getting really stressed and wasn't acting like myself. My foster mom heard I was struggling so she sprung me from the shelter!
Now I live with my foster mom and small dog brother and am thriving! I love catching sun rays on the back deck and in the yard, giving kisses on command, sitting for yummy treats, and snuggling in bed with my foster mom and dog brother! I didn't sleep so well at the shelter but I'm able to get really good sleep here, in a nice and comfy human bed!!
On the few days a week when my foster mom goes to work, I'm non-destructive so I get to chill with my foster bro sleeping the morning away on the couch or a dog bed. I don't even mind our neighbor coming over to let me out while my foster mom's gone!!
One of my favorite things is going on walks!!! I'm a big strong boy so we go at times where she and I can enjoy our walk without seeing a lot of people or other dogs, which can get me really excited and make me pull on my leash. I'm working really hard to learn that I don't have to pull and say hello to everyone we pass. I also absolutely love splish splashing and swimming and have been told I look absolutely adorable doing so!
If you are looking for a new best friend in your life I'd love to meet you!
For anyone looking for a lost pet or considering adoption or fostering, we encourage you to make regular visits to the shelter.
