Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Zelda!
Zelda is a gorgeous 4-5 months old spaniel and beagle mix. She is already spayed and expected to stay on the medium range when fully grown, at 30-35lbs. Zelda is also a parvo survivor. She is currently fostered in Thurmont, MD.
Zelda is a submissive puppy and friendly to dogs and cats. She hasn't had a single accident since arriving in her foster home, which is impressive for a puppy this age. Zelda is also very good at going into her crate and settling down.
Just like any puppy, she is still a little mouthy, but she redirects easily with a toy. So get those chew toys ready!
She loves to sleep in bed with her people and enjoys hours of snuggling on the couch. She just NEEDS to be near you! Her foster mom told us that Zelda would cuddle 20 hours out of the day if she could. She is the kind of dog to watch TV marathons with, not so much run them.
Zelda seems to bond quickly and like any puppy, she will need a lot of attention. Therefore, we believe a home where someone would be home more often than not is ideal for Zelda.
Please Note:
1. You must have a dedicated private space for potty and outdoor exploration. Puppies often need additional immunizations before they are allowed to walk in public spaces such as apartment complexes, dog parks and anywhere other animals may be until the puppies are fully immunized.
2. Unless an existing good vet record exists, we will not adopt to anyone further than a 1-hour drive from the listed location. We need to be in close proximity to adopters when we need to follow up on vaccinations and spay/neuter. There is an additional $200 spay/neuter deposit for an adopter within one hour who does not have a current or prior good vet record.
3. Pup cannot be left alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time. This is necessary for comfort breaks and much-needed socialization for a pup this age.
We review veterinary care for applicants. This includes regular well visits, core vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm, and tickborne tests, as well as regular monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. You MUST contact your veterinarian’s office to give them permission to speak to us BEFORE we call them to verify the care you have provided for your pets.
Applications are available at www.puppypawsrescue.org If your application meets our adoption criteria, we will contact you within 1 week. At that time, you will be contacted (usually by email) to schedule a phone interview and a virtual home visit (Facetime, Skype, etc). PLEASE CHECK your SPAM folder for emails from Puppy Paws Rescue.
Due to the volume of applications, applications that do not move forward to an interview may not receive a reply within that time frame. Our rescue is an all-volunteer team managing families, our paying jobs, households, foster dogs, application processing, interviews, home visits, follow-up, transports, and much more. We ask that you be courteous and patient with us.
If you’re seeing this listing the dog/puppy is still available. Please do not send an inquiry asking if the dog/puppy is available.
All of our dogs/puppies are kept in private foster homes. For this reason, we do not schedule meets until after an application has been processed and approved. If you’re interested in meeting the animal, you must first submit an application on our website- www.puppypawsrescue.org.
