Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sofia is the sweetest girl and just loves people! She was a bonus dog from our last rescue mission that was not part of the plan of dogs to save. However, she won over our transport volunteer when she thumped her little tail with excitement in her kennel and then tried to leap into her arms. It was sealed then, that she would be safe! She would finally be loved for who she is and not forced to produce puppies for profit any longer!
Sofia has continued her loving and happy disposition with her foster family. She follows foster mom wherever she goes and seeks every opportunity for belly rubs, head scratches or just snuggling up on the couch! She snores like a lumber jack cutting down a forest, which warms our hearts to know she is so content!
Sofia gets along with all dogs of various sizes and ages, but she is also ok to be the apple of your eye and get all the attention! Sofia does not require a physical fenced yard but it is preferred as she likes to run around and be a goof ball in the yard. We do not accept electric fences as secure and she would require to be leashed at all times when outdoors not in a secure physical fenced yard.
Sofia's adoption fee is $315. She is spayed, received a dental, microchipped, current on vaccines, and on monthly flea and heart worm prevention. A slight heart murmur was heard during her spay/dental but she does not need any medications at this time and only needs monitored by a vet. Visit our Application Process on our website leiashope.org for how to make this sweetie part of your family!
PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer ran rescue with full time jobs. Please allow 7-10 days for application processing.
All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application.
We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or provide transportation. You must come to the location of the dog to meet and adopt. NO EXCEPTION. All family members and dogs must be present at the meet.
Dogs are a commitment for THEIR lifetime. For puppies this could be 15 years. If YOU cannot commit to the lifetime of the DOG, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where there is someone home frequently (works from home or a partner is home), can adequately socialize and train the puppy, and can keep up with puppy energy!
