Adopt Marvel! This handsome male Pyr has a story to melt your heart . After being left on a rural property, Marvel lived outdoors taking shelter under a porch since 2018. Dallas Dogrr took Marvel in when this poor boy was shot with an arrow and was heart worm posiitive. He healed quickly and began living with one of our fosters. After a few months it was discovered that he had cancer that was contained in his front right leg. Amputation being the standard of care, Marvel became a tripod and is now cancer free!
Marvel took no time to transition to the three legs. He loves running in the backyard and checking for any animal activity. He also is good buddies with the foster's two dogs; taking cues from them regarding house rules. Marvel is a smart guy, becoming more sure of himself each day. He has now mastered running! Pyrs are know for walking the fence line and roaming, so a secure tall fence is a must for Marvel. As for barking, Marvel is a minimalist; and not easily excitable.
Marvel starts his day with a good morning wag of the tail! During the day he enjoys chillaxing on cushy dog beds, chewing on a bone here and there. He loves massages and belly rubs, too! When he wants to go outside he shows excitement by "hopping to his foster mom and then to the door. If he really wants attention, he will "speak with his low manly voice usually letting you know it's time to make his dinner. Where his people or dogs are is where he wants to be. Whether inside on some cushy spot or outside enjoying some cool breezes he is a happy pup!
Despite living outside for years, Marvel is house broken and has never messed in the house. Good with a doggie door. Not a fan of a crate, but is fine in a good size room with a dog bed. Good when left alone in house too. He listens to verbal correction, such as the word no if he tries to get on the couch. Marvel enjoys people giving him attention and has been exposed to all ages at our adoption events. Would be most happy with at least one other dog. Unsure about his feelings on cats.
