My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cam (about 1 and a half years old as of February 2024) is a spayed female brown tabbyshorthaired cat. Cam and her 5 siblings were born to a friendly stray cat in Waukegan, but because mama was homeless at the time she had her kittens they didn't have any contact with people, so they were growing up feral before they were caught at about 2 months old and it took a lot of work to tame them enough to be housepets. Cam inherited a lot of her mother's love of people; she's very shy with strangers and will probably take some time to adjust to a new family but for people she's comfortable with she loves to cuddle up to her people, get head scritches, and intensely lick hands just to show affection. She isn't the best at being held for any length of time but can be briefly handled when needed. Because she is more shy we don't think she'd be great for a house with a rowdy dog or little kids, but she is great with other cats. She'd definitely be happiest in a multiple cat household, preferably with her best friend, her sister Ferris.
