Say hello to Chicho! He and his brother Chacho were surrendered when their family very sadly lost their home. These precious babies are extremely bonded and must only be adopted together and both boys will bond tightly with their people.NEITHER of these fellows can hold their lickers so you must love KISSES!! Their foster Mom works and they are crated together while she is away and they have adjusted to that routine. They would do the very best with a very experienced doxie mom or mom/dad who are home a lot with a calm quiet household and can dote on them and give them lots of routine, love, and attention. Work from home or early retired would be great for them.
Chicho is the slightly smaller boy with a slightly lighter coat. He is a very sweet fellow who is a little more mellow than his brother, but is also seems to be his boss as well. While he is always up for a game of 'hunt the possum', Chicho prefers to be in a lap or right next to you wherever you go. He is his foster mom's little shadow. He has not seemed to care much about toys.
Both boys have been very consistant using a doggy door and do very well holding it in their crate when foster mom goes out. They must be crated together so will require a larger crate then a single doxie would so they have enough space. They would like to be bed dogs at night, but currently they are also crated together in the bedroom so they know their mom is nearby.
Chicho has the softest eyes and you can't help but give in to his desire for cuddles. He really just wants to be a lapdog snuggled with his person. He has a sensative soul and you can't help but melt when he looks at you. He loves to be right there to groom your arm or for cuddles and belly rubs.
Both boys are friendly with every person they have met and with the other small dogs they have been living with. They insist on being the center of attention so because of this would be easier as the only dogs. Also no young children in the house (teens might be ok). No cats or pocket pets!! They will require a securly fenced house....so not an apartment, condo or duplex. They are aspiring escape artists so must be monitored when outside. They will require a very secure backyard with a 6 foot wooden fence and no gravel or debris they can chew on.
If you are looking for a very sweet, handsome pair of loving young brothers to be the center of your attention, who will definately keep you on your toes, please consider these fellows. They are worth it.

All Texas Dachshund Rescue is unable to adopt any dogs outside of the state of Texas.
All Texas Dachshund Rescue, Inc., is made up of a group of volunteers whose primary goal is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home disabled and otherwise endangered Dachshunds who have found themselves homeless for one reason or another. It is our policy that no dogs will be adopted out without first being spayed or neutered, have had all vaccines updated, are heartworm negative, are on heartworm preventative, and have had all other health issues we consider important to the pet’s life addressed that we are able.
All incoming Dachshunds will be placed in temporary foster homes, where they will be evaluated while living indoors with the foster families in a safe and nurturing home environment, until such time as they are ready to be placed in a loving, adoptive, forever home.
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
