My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chief: COURTESY LISTING

Chief is NOT at the shelter. Please contact his owner for an appointment to meet him: Emilyalbertarogers@gmail.com.

From Chief's owner:
Chief is a 7-year-old German Shepherd dog (born September of 2016). He has a wonderful temperament, loves people, and is great with children (we have three, and in the 6 years of having children, I've never seen him do anything even remotely aggressive to our children or any child that we have been around). He does not enjoy being around small dogs or cats. Chief was born in Hawaii, and since then has lived in Kentucky, California and now Kansas. He has been adaptable with every move and has not struggled whatsoever with relocating. He's a very happy dog and is content wherever he is. He also does great traveling in the car, no sickness. He also doesn't have any issues with storms or loud noises, no anxiety. When we travel, he does great at a kennel, or with someone coming to our home. Chief is completely house broken and well trained at home - he does not get on furniture and he understands his boundaries within the home (I.e. does not go upstairs or in the basement). He loves to be outside and would spend as much time outside as possible, if he could.
We love our dog and we are sad to rehome him, but in the desert of California, Chief developed a condition called Pannus which impacts his eyes. Living in Kansas has been very good for him and has slowed the progression of his condition, pretty much completely. We have even seen improvement in his vision. However, we are about to move to another desert environment for a long stint of time, which will likely cause him to go blind. We are looking to rehome him in order to protect him and his quality of life.
