GELATO hails from SANDY LAKE in Northern Ontario and he came south with his 4 siblings (the Parlour litter) to find his forever home. The breed mix we have him listed as and the size he’ll grow to be is just a guess as we really have no way of knowing. He’s had his first set of puppy vaccines, microchip and been deemed a healthy boy by our vet. He’s the biggest puppy in the litter and he’s almost double the size of the smallest one. He’s just a big love bug who lives to follow you around and get attention. This litter is such a happy bunch of tail waggers and just loves people and being snuggled.
He is crate trained and sleeps quietly in it all night. He has access to it in the day and will take a nap in it. His housetraining is still very much a work in progress as he doesn’t know enough to ask to go outside. He will go bathroom outside though if he’s taken out for it.
GELATO is an energetic puppy who loves to play with his siblings. He also loves to play with all sorts of toys and enjoys chasing balls around. He’s just started to go on walks and gets excited when he knows he’s going outside. Like all puppies though he does pull on his leash so avoid a collar pulling on his neck, he wears a harness as well.
He would love to find a family that will take him on walks and hikes and basically enjoy being outside with him. He travels well in a vehicle so will always be ready and willing for any adventures they’ll send his way. He hasn’t met a cat but if the cat is dog savvy and with a monitored introduction they should get along just fine. Children should be aged 6 and up, caring, considerate and understand he’s just a puppy that at times will nibble on fingers and toes. He does require a fenced-in yard to keep him safe.
Puppies are fun and cute but also require a lot of work, patience and dedication to training. We need his potential adopter to be in agreement to sign him up for obedience/puppy training in order to adopt him.
His neuter is included in his adoption fee and will be performed at the Barrie SPCA by the time he’s 8 months and no later than 9 months of age or if he reaches 60lbs (whichever comes first.) We also need you to be in agreement with this in order to adopt him.
If you would like to meet GELATO then please submit the adoption application to do so.
