Little Perry is made of sugar and spice and everything nice! He is 1-2 years old and about 13 pounds. Perry loves to play with other small dogs after an appropriate introduction, but is also quite good at entertaining himself. He is very athletic; his foster mom has seen him toss a forward pass and catch it himself before it hits the ground. Perry likes to grumble when disturbed when he is comfortable, and can even make quite scary faces, but it is all in fun and he has perfect bite inhibition.
Perry is housetrained and knows how to use a dog door. He has learned to walk on leash, but is not comfortable yet meeting new dogs or people while out. He can walk along with a person and another dog after an introduction. He is not an off-leash dog at this time and prefers to walk where other dogs are also on leash. Perry loves to hang out in the yard even when all the other dogs are inside, so a outdoor space for him would be important. Perry enjoys being around other playful dogs so that would be nice in his forever home. Children in his home should be teenagers.
Perry is very nervous in new places and we know it will take him about 24 hours to feel comfortable in his new home. For that reason, a foster-to-adopt home for Perry is a possibility.
Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Perry is $300.
If you are interested in adopting Perry, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.
